> Does anyone here use a binary newsreader (newsreaper) in Linux? > What's a good one?
I use a newsreader. Pan. Download the cvs version and use it. I've followed the progress for a couple years. There are numerous changes that improve memory usage and other functions. Check out the ChangeLog. To build the pan CVS you'll need to get automake-1.4 and use the autotools to correctly. Generally the autogen script should do fine. Pan CVS worked great on my old p2 333 laptop that had 256MB ram. 512MB or more ram will improve performance greatly. Hope this helps in your quest.
