Mainly depends of the public you are addressing : students,
professionals, teachers...
For students and teachers, you may insist on the high quality of the
knowledge you get from building a LFS system.
If you address GPL community, you may insist on the possibility to build
a system entirely with open source software (nothing on my machine,
except this acroread bullshit, and a few drivers (speedtouch...) is
binary.
For professionals... well, I'm not one :-(
