Hi,
does anyone know much about using cups?
I have just got a new printer with a network i/f on it. A Konica Minolta
2530DL.
It came with a linux driver (RPM, which I have extracted) which I have
installed in the appropriate places. Actually as part of my problem
solving, I dl'd their latest driver and installed that. It is dated Sept
2006 so it's quite recent.
I have installed CUPS-1.2.7 and ESP-Ghostscript-8.15.3. Both according
to the BLFS svn book... almost.
Going through the admin screens to set-up the printer on
http://localhost:631 was amazingly painless! I thought at this stage,
this is easy!!!!
Printing a test page from the administrator interface seems to be fine;
no error messages are generated. But nothing prints. The printer gets
stopped! I set the log_level to debug and this is the tail of the error.log.

The only error I can see is the cupsdSendError: 8 code=304 (Not
Modified) error. And googling doesn't give me any clues....
Anyone care to offer some guidance to a CUPS noobie?

PS - The printer works fine from a M$oft pc over the same network
interface ;-)
