Hi,

Like a lot of people out there I have what is probably considered
(DD)ADD (Desktop/Distro;) For a time I've downloaded each major release
and found them to be lacking in some area. For the better part of this
year I've been using (B)LFS inspired systems. Admittedly, my first
build was in the summer of 2006 and it was by rote. I was counted
sometime after and have LFS ID 18910 for version 6.2.

LFS has been, without a doubt, the most educational experience I have
had. I cannot think of another project which could expose anyone with
no experience to so much, and so quickly, in such a painless, results
based way. It's empowering.

My current system is based off SVN-20080711 with perl 5.10.0 and
linux-2.6.26.5, with much reference to the BLFS instructions. I still
have lots to learn and I have no doubt that (B)LFS will be there with
me every step of the way.

Thanks (B)LFS and anyone who has contributed - This is THE project that
comes to mind when I think free software!
Trent.
