 Thanks for your comments.  I have loathed package managers for a
very long time, so I'm not in a hurry to try pacman.  I might take a
look at it later, but rebuilding my scripts is enough of a task that
I'm in no hurry to add extra files to the process.  Meanwhile, 'Plan
B' is trying to get started ;)
