I'm just trying to be helpful and provide information. I'm not trying to argue with you. Input from as many folks as possible can only be a good thing. However, I haven't deviated except for some customizing of /etc/login.defs, but most of that is wiped out during PAM installation. Do be aware I'm running a PAM system and you are not. However, I just logged in a little bit ago with a couple of different users, and as you can see, everything seems to be working as expected.
