Heh, same here, though after immense amounts of pain getting obstinate
packages to build I'm wondering if we should not be taking a similar
route with auto{conf,make} as is taken with gentoo. ie: install multiple
versions of each and use a wrapper script to drive them...

Ever noticed that when you do actually need to use autofoo it is always
some older version required...

This probably isn't a discussion for lfs-dev though...
