It works for GCC-3.4.x, GCC-4.x and I feel confident in predicting it will
continue working well into the future. Of course, the caveat for LFS is
that `sed -i' is not guaranteed to be available for GCC-Pass2.
I think that it is guaranteed there, because it would have barfed
earlier (in glibc Makefiles, unless they fixed that). Anyway, LFS is
faulty here because it doesn't explain the minimum required versions of
host sortware except the kernel.
