I think Jim's results are because he said he *updated* his copy
of coreutils from a previous version, which of course is not
really something we need to consider, because LFS/CLFS is built
on the concept of "from scratch".

Updating a version of a package is sort of something that only
experienced builders do, and not something that you will find
instructions in LFS/CLFS for.
