I'd suggest we just wait for the next release.  It's only a warning and we've
been ignoring it for a while now without anyone (to my knowledge)
complaining about it.

I'd suggest we offer one as a patch (including the relevant Makefile bits to 
install
it during 'make install').  Out of interest, do you know if there's a particular
reason why tar does not ship a manpage?
