Ouch! I started out with RedHat-6, then moved to mandrake, and from there to LFS and eventually only LFS. But when I got a PPC G5 (at the end of 2005) I used fedora4 - at that time both ubuntu and debian were too old, and on fedora I had to build a new kernel to get everything working properly. Hmm, narrowing the problem with fedora to "something changed in the last 10 years" isn't particularly useful, but at least it is a start. I think I'll google around to see if I get any ideas, and if not we'll have to be a bit more specific about host distros. What I was really hoping to do was to try openSuSe, but playing with yet another distro without understanding this error isn't a beneficial use of my time. ĸen -- This email was written using 100% recycled letters. -- http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
