Apparently, there's an issue with alfs regarding .la files:
from /mnt/lfs/jhalfs/logs/073-createfiles:
sed: can't read /tools/lib/libstdc++.la: No such file or directory
alain@johnson:~/dev/jhalfs-dev$ find /mnt/lfs/ -type f -name "*.la"
2>/dev/null
/mnt/lfs/usr/lib/libstdc++.la
alain@johnson:~/dev/jhalfs-dev$
I'll look to fix that (potentially remove the sed lines) in lfs book
source tomorrow evening.
I removed that command at revision 11347.
