If you want to build Xorg on the system, you will want them
(xorgproto, libdrm).  The old CMMI might still work for the moment.

And for large cmake packages, need is too strong a word, but with
llvm we found that using ninja does speed it up a lot (as I said at
the time, using ninja with cmake used to only benefit developers who
changed a file and rebuilt in place - but now it is faster in a
fresh build).
