Another optional dependency, which was added fairly recently, is that
the latest Bison can use libtextstyle from the latest Gettext for
diagnostic output prettification.
I don't know whether it's practical to move Gettext earlier than Bison
in the book, though.
Perhaps libtextstyle could be picked up from Gettext in Chapter 5 if we
installed it there.
