Before receiving your reply I tried installing "Sysvinit-2.86" and and
found the same problem;
root:/sources/sysvinit-2.86# make -C src install
....
......
........
make: Entering directory `/sources/sysvinit-2.86/src'
for i in mountpoint; do \
install -o root -g root -m 755 $i /bin/; \
done
install: invalid group `root'
make: *** [install] Error 1
make: Leaving directory `/sources/sysvinit-2.86/src'
>>> END <<<
also "invalid group `root'".
On this 2nd round installing LFS-6.1.1 I went through all steps almost
without problem.
I'll go through "Shadow-4.0.9" again.
