Its time to take stock of the situation.
a.) your build is broke
b.) your struggling to grasp whats actually going on within the LFS
build process
May I suggest that you either
a.) start again from scratch paying attention to the text of the book,
and the lessons you have learned from your first attempt.
or
b.) Use and out of the box distro suck as Debian, Suse, Redhat, Fedora,
Ubuntu and try to grasp a little more the basics of using the linux
platform and how to debug problems before continuing with LFS.
reporting errors with text like "ls does not work" is not helpful, nor
does it help use help you.
I suggest you use an out of the box distro until you become much more
comfortable with linux.
