Hi,

I had tried the above release on my Compaq Prasario P-III laptop.
The install went through without any evident problems. But the
boot-message gives "Warning: eth0 does not exist". The lspci shows:
"Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82557/8/9 [Ethernet Pro 100] (rev
08)"
The '/etc/sysconfig/network-devices' part is in place like my other lfs on
the same computer.
Does this happening pertain to the "change"?
You've probably not configured your kernel correctly to support the
devices.
This does not seem to be the case. Otherwise, how would 'lspci' command show
the result as:
"Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82557/8/9 [Ethernet Pro 100].(rev
08)"
Have you tried this particular release? If so, please let me know which
particular configuration of kernel I may be missing.
Thanks & Regards
