Hi. You should tell us more about the trouble, and the host machine. Unfortunately, you didn't include enough of the error message to give us much to go on. I recall some issues with binutils and libiberty, but that was in the 5.x series, ages ago. If googling doesn't help, and searching the lfs support mail list archives doesn't help, please send more information about the host system and error message. You mentioned the LFS CD, which is good, but readers still don't know which version of the CD nor what architecture, x86 or ppc. And the really important lines of the error would have printed out above what you posted. Please include more next time. You did mention exactly which step you're on, which is good. All I can suggest at such an early point is to start over.
