From the "Introduction to freeglut", it appears it is needed for developpement. Is this right? The only reason I tried to install freeglut is that it is an optional dependency of LibTIFF, which is an optional dependency of little cms-1.15, which is required for libmng-1.0.9, which is recommended for QT. So, maybe it isn't needed after all, for someone who wants KDE but who is not a develloper?
The reason I didn't install Mesa was its dependencies, plus the fact that the Nvidia driver provides acceleration and won't use Mesa. Of course, I may have misunderstood it all.
