 Thanks for that, Jaqui - it makes the possibility of the disk using
ext2 and the kernel not understanding it somewhat less likely.
I'm just glad I don't normally have to touch CDs : ext2 on a CD ?
Whatever next ?  8-|

 So, back to guessing that something in the SCSI or ATA options is
missing.
