Not attempting to defend this - and I've no personal experience with
UnionFS since it was very, very pre-release - but FWIW, that fellow
(Tomas M) is the maintainer for Slax Linux (http://www.slax.org), which
depends heavily on a union-style filesystem (i.e., UnionFS or AuFS)...
so I'm willing to trust his judgment on this one.
