305 hex is 773 decimal, I think. Please try without any vga= specification. If that boots, perhaps try with vga=ask (ISTR that the last time I used a vga specification was with a 2.4 kernel - I now use framebuffers). > So I think the problem derives from a different inconvenience, perhaps > .config. > Can I try to repeat all the process of kernel installation or have I to go > back more? > Greetings > > Louis First, get it to boot to a stage where you can log in and sort-of use the console. Then concentrate on getting the console to display at the right size - for me, 1024x768 gives 128x48 characters with my preferred font size (8x16), but I can't really guess what size of font you are using. If you have enabled fonts in the kernel (I'm not sure if that option is only available for framebuffers), make sure you haven't selected the 12x22 sun font, that will definitely give you large characters. Also check which sizae of console font you are using, since it will be loaded before you can log in as a user. ĸen -- das eine Mal als Tragödie, das andere Mal als Farce -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
