The exact answer is that LFS is a book made by humans, for humans and that there is no standardized way of feeding it to the machine. Jhalfs may work, but it is under no obligation to do so. That said, please keep in mind that making a workable distro is not exactly a walk in a park for people who haven't done that before and may take as little as 3 months or as much as two years, depending on what you want to put in it and who does it.
