 Sorry, I thought you had said you used the hlfs live CD.  LFS-6.3
is getting long in the tooth - it *might* be good enough to build
recent systems, but I've no idea.

 So, you can continue and recover the data using the Gentoo Live CD.
Nobody is maintaining the LFS Live CD, AFAIK, so nobody will have any
interest in further debugging.  Sometimes, LFS gets classed as a
distro, but we don't have the support infrastructure of regular
distros.
