If you're using MySQL, I would recommend switching to the SQLite backend. I
dont remember how to do it though, but it should be something in the
akonadiserverrc file. With the SQLite backend, Akonadi takes up alot less
than 100% on 1 core.

I hope this helps.

It might. A search says to set up akonadiserverrc with:

[%General]
Driver=QSQLITE3

[QSQLITE3]
Name=/home/serafean/.local/share/akonadi/akonadi.db

[Debug]
Tracer=null

Probably changing the Name path or from the message:

"The only line you need to change is the Driver line, the rest is filled with defaults on first run."

https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread.php?58265-HOW-TO-SQLite-backend-for-Akonadi

I suspect I need to rebuild Qt to add that DB though.
