A by-the-book lfs build would put stuff under only $LFS, except for maybe grub stuff that partly goes elsewhere; but you didn't go as far as grub this time 'round. Therefore the stuff under $LFS should be all that you'd need to deal with, if at all, before starting afresh. But anyway, you just treat the situation like you would when you're about to start any build using the lfs book: - you've got a computer. - you've got the lfs book. - the computer will be in a given state - partitions, os (one or more), data on it, etc. Proceed. And that means just what it says. Part of the start-of-the-book of lfs is dealing with the state of the computer that you want to put a new lfs onto - what partitions/os/data/&c does it already have (including possibly some previous lfs os/part-build/data stuff). But at the same time, it's assumed that you've got at least some basic familiarity with such concepts, before trying lfs. And presumably you're OK on that front, given that you got thru ch5/part-ch6 recently. rgds, akh -- -- http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/listinfo/lfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
