My impression is that _anything_ linked to libreadline.so.6 *might* have a problem because of changes between 6.2 and 6.3 : I don't have any systems as old as yours, but it is possible that something with a 2.6 kernel might be linking to libreadline.so.5. Use 'ldd' to check that.
