Hi everybody, Problem: using lfs as user and in the directory $LFS/sources, the instruction: mkdir -v ../binutils-build gives error: mkdir: cannot create directory `../binutils-build': Permission denied
Search: I search the site giving the error message and got some links: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-support/2010-January/037393.html http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-support/2010-January/037394.html http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-support/2009-September/036541.html http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-support/2008-November/035090.html http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-support/2008-November/035020.html The last link says "chown lfs /mnt/lfs" It solved the problem. Suggested Solution: Please fix 4.3 Additon the LFS User Before or After the 2 chown statements add: chown -v lfs $LFS or Replace the 2 chown statements with one: chown -v -R lfs $LFS Pls forward this msg to the right mailing list.
