Hi everybody,

Problem:
using lfs as user and in the directory $LFS/sources,
the instruction: mkdir -v ../binutils-build
gives error: mkdir: cannot create directory `../binutils-build': Permission
denied

Search:
I search the site giving the error message and got some links:

The last link says "chown lfs /mnt/lfs"
It solved the problem.

Suggested Solution:
Please fix 4.3 Additon the LFS User
Before or After the 2 chown statements add: chown -v lfs $LFS
or
Replace the 2 chown statements with one: chown -v -R lfs $LFS

Pls forward this msg to the right mailing list.
