My apologies if this was already asked before but my Google-fu through the mailing list archives didn't turn up what I was looking for.
Is there a difference and will it matter if my host system has libgmp.so or libgmp.a but not libgmp.la on it? Same with libmpc and libmpfr, I have the .so and .a files but not .la. Also has anyone successfully used Ubuntu 14.04 as a host system to build their LFS 7.6 machine? Any particular hang-ups that I should watch out for?
