Hello,

I can definitely say that upgrading Glibc is rather easy and painless as
long as you are confident in your abilities. I went from 2.16 to 2.20 on
one of my PCs recently. I compiled Glibc normally but at the before you
install Glibc, do the following to go into a single-user mode:

*** IF YOU ARE ON SYSVINIT ***
init 1

*** IF YOU ARE ON SYSTEMD ***
systemctl start rescue.target

Note that I upgraded Binutils, GCC, GMP, MPC, MPFR, and ZLIB directly after
I installed it, but that is just from personal preference. As the LFS Motto
states: "Your Distro, Your Rules".
