I think, I have the same problem. But i can acctually find "error", "header" and "private" i my file. Am I guessing right, that you're using "less" to read the log file? I think you typed less config.log and then in the less-mode /error (to search for the word). If you did that, you have to press 'n' to show the first error (n for next) If you find it, this might help you: You havn't done, what the book said, you were to lazy. (I did the same) Do like http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/view/stable/chapter04/settingenvironment.html says, and untar all files in your source folder. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE FILE /mnt/lfs/sources/tcl8.6.4 HAS TO BE UN-TARED!
