If you are doing this for your education, great. However a new user should be building the book manually so they understand what's going on.

For automated builds, there is jhalfs that automatically pulls the commands from the book's sources and creates a Makefile. This allows the entire book to be built with a simple 'make'. That's how we check that the instructions in LFS are accurate.

Of course there are other from source systems like Gentoo or Arch that automate building without the hassle of understanding how it works.
