Hi,

Let me show you my final configuration. It seems to work well for this
stage.

- Kernel config:
 > Device Drivers > Graphics support
 <*> Nouveau (NVIDIA) cards

 > Device Drivers > Graphics support > Frame buffer Devices
*** Frame buffer hardware drivers ***
  [*] VESA VGA graphics support
  [*] EFI-based Framebuffer Support
  < > nVidia Framebuffer Support

A summary of the nouveau activity shows that the default resolution is
1366x768, which is
exactly the one for the 14" monitor of my laptop, according to its technical
specification.

- Grub config:
The attempts to change the resolution seems to work until nouveau changes
to the default 1366x768.

- Drivers:
I'm not installing NVIDIA drivers. By now nouveau works well.

Regards,
