Hi all,
I wonder if there are any plans to implement support
for the sftp protocol in lftp. Right now there are
support for it under Windows (e.g. SecureFX) and
Macintosh (e.g. MacSSH) but under UNIX I can not find
any client except the one that comes with OpenSSH. :-(
I know there are support for ftp-over-ssh (fish) in
lftp but the problem with that protocol is that all
users need to have a working shell (like "/bin/bash")
and thus also can login via ssh and get access to the
whole filesystem. Ofcourse you can do chroot'ing but
you still needs a working ugly unix-environment in the
users chroot-jail (like /etc, /lib, /bin, ...).
I've heard that the SFTP protocol is very clean and
nice to implement so maybe it could be done? I wish I
could help but my coding skills aren't that good. :-(
Thank you and thanks for a nice unix client!
Regards,
Friedrisch
