        Ah, but this is standard getopt behavior.  It would be nice to
        document it, I agree, but this is a classic gotcha that all
        command line users will run across at SOME point.

        From GNU getopt(3):

        "The special argument `--' forces an end of option-scanning
        regardless of the scanning mode."
