No, lftp will not send e-mail.
But it can bypass the file. See --size-range option.

Thanks for the reply - I see that in the man page. What kind
of format would I use to download only files that are say between 0
bytes & 100MB?
If I needed to alert on larger files, I guess I would need to
combine lftp into some kind of script to send an email alert - the
larger file size I suppose would be listed in the debug output on
lftp's mirroring.
