Actually, thinking about this some more, since prefetch is "advice"
anyway, doesn't this mean I should leave out the
ff_thread_await_progress()? Alexander, Jason, Loren, any opinions?
No answers, so I've removed it in this patch iteration. Other comments
addressed, should be committable whenever.
I assume it had been fate and valgrind/helgrind tested already, seems
fine for me, if needed ping me to try run helgrind over it.
