Yes: TOFU is evil! It should be avoided wherever possible[1]
Yes2: libav is an opensource project like others as well. People write
support for something because they think they need it or because its
fun to do. Which basically means, if you want to have support for something
non-trivial, you have to find someone who is interested in it or do it
yourself. And given that most people around libav are usually busy with
lots of stuff that they find very interesting, it will probably be the latter.
Yes3: People around here seem to think that openmax is an overly clumsy,
developed behind closed doors standard. Where the develpopers of said
standard didn't even think about asking those who will be using their
standard until it was too late. The last words i've heard at VDD
about openmax were not very kind.
