pointless waste of 3 good bytes IMHO, and once I'm happy with the number
of patches everything will be moved to jpeg2k. (I have already some
machinery to do that in a not so painful way).
Please, let's not bikeshed this. It's been jpeg2000 so far and two
bytes gain really is not worth the inconsistency.
