Every other big player is pushing for MPEG-DASH; Google, Microsoft,
Adobe and so forth. Netflix and Google already using it behind the
scenes in their ecosystems.

Had Apple been onboard the MPEG-DASH train, it would be world wide
spread standard by now, that's for sure. But the others have invested
way too much time & money to not make this happen.

I guess we won't se any players supporting the MPEG-TS profile except
from the experimental reference one(s), but as for what's found in
dash.js I expect that to be spread. The buzz has been roughly the same
around MPEG-DASH tha last couple of years, but now we acually see
enduser applications running MPEG-DASH under the hood.

One struggle is indeed content creation, where the freely available
programs are, to say the least, very experimental (and not found within
"the usual suspects"; libav/FFmpeg/GStreamer). I fail to see how MPEG
does not see it as important to push that, or perhaps they are not very
considered about the standard acutally being used.

Cheers,

/Joakim
