Yes, those are fine examples.

For some of those, high bitrates sequences can actually be generated
by native encoders.

huffyuvdec could have been another example, but libav's version
doesn't have the improvements where the old API, being replaced by the
patchset, was used for demonstrable benefits. If you are interested in
seeing benchmarks in that direction, there are examples such as:
