There should be no problem: Nobody can see the difference between a high-bitrate yuv420p h264 encoding and a lossless yuv420p h264 encoding. (And openh264 only supports yuv420p, this is not your fault.) What is your problem? Please test current FFmpeg git head and provide the command line you tested together with the complete, uncut console output and explain what goes wrong.
