[libav-user] libavformat on a stream

Hi all,
     i am developing an application which uses libavformat to demux a stream
.Basically wahat i need to do is store an incoming http progressive donwload
in a buffer  and input that buffer to libavformat. Do i need to implement
new protocol for that ?
