A Pirate Party do exist in Italy and it is particularly active in spreading the use of LiquidFeedback, the software platform developed to support the internal decision-making process of the German Pirate Party .
In Italy LiquidFeedback has also been used to support online deliberation by several local groups of the MoVimento 5 Stelle (probably known outside Italy as as Beppe Grillo's movement). We have used it in large civic context, involving generic citizens, in occasion of the recent elections in the Lombardy region (http://lf.proposte.ambrosolilombardia2013.it/lqfb.php: it is in Italian, but at least for the menu you can select the English). The outcomes of this experience are quite interesting and we will present them in the ePart2013 conference http://www.epart-conference.org/. A member of the Pirate Party and myself have been asked to present the software (the pirate) and the above initiative (myself) to the IS office of the Italian Senate, that published last week a report on "civic media" in which LiquidFeedback is mentioned as one of the relevant software platforms. -- fiorella Fiorella De Cindio University of Milan Computer Science Department via Comelico 39/41 I20135 MILANO (Italy) tel. +39-02-5031 6288 (direct) 6327 (lab) email: fiorella.decin...@unimi.it http://eng.di.unimi.it/ecm/home/research/milan-laboratories/civic-informatics-laboratory a...@acm.org writes: >Is there something like this in the US? > >[ http://www.piratenpartei.de/ ]http://www.piratenpartei.de/ > >It is sorely needed, -- Too many emails?
