>>But one can make a clear and convincing case that US government policy are aiding the terrorists in the following ways: 1)undercutting and alienating those Moslems who are inclined, for whatever motiviation, to support the US and oppose the jihadis 2)allowing almost unlimited propaganda points to the jihadis, who can paint our actions as exactly in accord with their claims, even when they are not.
Jeffrey Smith<< Yes you are correct. Now lets try and combine a few points in an analysis and see what we get if anything. 1) Two diametricly opposed world views are in the process of clashing. The view of what is commonly called 'the west' and the view of Islam. 2) Islam is much more a view based upon faith, religion, and intolerance of opposing view points. It is much more hostile to science, technology and progress than its opposite. 3) The west relatively more accepting of science, technology and progress. And much more able to match its views with the natural world. 5) Combine this with Dieus ex Machina's observations on the effect of western thought (through the spread of new and better ideas/globalism) and you find that such a conflict is going to result in the extinction of one of the points of view and would most likely leave the victor unable to survive for very long. I am sure that I am on to something and that I am leaving something out. BWS ------------------------ Yahoo!
