A few hundred years ago the IT (Information Technology) innovation of its day was the printing press. It facilitated the mass propagation of ideas and perspectives that were not always approved by, or convenient for, the established order of that day. Despite establishment attempts to scare people away from this newly facilitated consciousness and get them to burn books and so on, the old world order began to crumble. Kings were overthrown and replaced with attempts at self-rule. The world changed!
