Re: Kurdistan 1) Is one the main costs of our occupation of Iraq that everyone (Bush, Bremer, their leftist critics) seems to think a unitary Iraq is a value (Bremer did not reconstitute the Iraqi army because the Kurds would have succeeded he says, if he had)? Would it have been better if Kurdistan declared its independence, with a resultant civil war in Iran as their Kurds attempted to leave and join (formerly Iraqi) Kurdistan? 2) Should libertarians, individualists, etc here join Kurdish yahoo lists and other venues to try to start discussions with these people about free market/open society ideas in order to influence developments there?
