Dave: Timothy West is upset that he came to a casino only to discover gambling. Though the same could be said of everyone from Chris Farris & Robbie Honerkamp to Carl Milstead. I don't want to start picking on well meaning middle American types but for crying out loud, they should give it a rest. They define "extremist" as anyone with more personality than a lump of homemade soap. When I came back from a vacation earlier this month, I found this article by Stephen Gordon http://hammeroftruth.com/2006/01/03/libertarians-opposed-to-drugs-sex-and-rock-and-roll/ . I really enjoyed it especially given that I call Terry Liberty Parker, "Gramps" for being so old school and uptight. Of course, one does not have to flying the freak flag to be a libertarian, a point I have made over and over on The Liberated Space.
The Badnarik campaign has been over for quite sometime. About 100 on a planet of 6 billion know that Michael didn't have a drivers' license and of those only 3 care. Make that two now that Mr. Bradford has gone on to that anarchist aggregate in the sky. It didn't mean a flying flip to anyone in the outside world and we didn't gain or lose a vote because of it. The various LP reformers want to appeal to nice people but what they don't understand is that nice people are not libertarians. Nice people steal from some to give to others. Nice people use the mechanism of the state to take your house for the good of all or at least the good of Home Depot. Nice people deny the use of marijuana to the sick. Nice people spread democracy with military might. They can keep nice. I don't care about nice; I care about freedom.
