Cory,
Thanks. I have an idea that an American is literally tens of
millions of times more likely to get harmed by the drug war than
by a terrorist. Just look around; the figure is not likely
unreasonable. How many in your own circle of friends and family
and associates have been harmed by the drug war? Probably at
least several. How many by a terrorist? Unless you live in NYC,
probably none.
Forget "innocently"; the word implies exclusion (true guilt) of
some-to-most convicted of street-drug crimes. A convicted
black-market capitalist ("distribution") is just as innocent as a
convicted pot smoker ("possession"). The only un-innocent ones
are the warriors / politicians / enforcers themselves, because
it's their policy that causes all the non-consensual harm (of
course they don't normally get convicted of their using or
selling).

{American jurors have complete Constitutional authority to vote
"not guilty" based on nothing more than a disagreement with the
case, no matter the evidence - despite the judge's instructions.
There is absolutely no obligation to vote "guilty" to arrive at a
unanimous verdict. Get on a jury, stand your ground, and fulfill
its other main purpose: to counteract abusive government and
unjust lawsuits.

That's an interesting point. Any idea what the statistics are of
being innocently caught in the drug war vs. being harmed in a
terrorist incident (within the US borders)?

Here, here, Paul! Let us count the ways American Christianity
(fundamental or not) has manifested as destroyer of liberty! The
chance that any one of us will be harmed by terrorism tomorrow is
so infinitesimally small that you would need an expert in
probability and statistics to figure the number of decimal points
less than one percent. Now contrast that to the percent chance
that you will be harmed tomorrow by the drug war. (We all know
the drug war is xtain bias at its heart.) It's disgusting to me
to have to listen to the large amount of expressed fear from
Americans about terrorism, relative to the small amount of fear
about the drug war - the exact reverse of the reality of the
situation. How many Americans wail on about terrorism WHILE a
member of their own family is getting sent off to prison/camp for
the political/religious crime of drugs?? The selective
blindness/numbness of most Americans to their own terrorism of
the drug war is nothing less than hideous.
