Not at all.  That would have been more than enough to cut off all US
giovernemnt aid to Israel, not that they should have been getting any
to begin with.
As far as anything else, that would have been justification to declare
war on Israel.  I do not believe that would have been necessary, just
like it was not necessary to go to war with Iraq.

I was speaking specifically about sending troops.

It can certainly be denied.  The treaty did not exist in a vacuum.  If
not for the Communist revolution after the end of WWI, things would
have been MUCH different.  The disastorous policies of the Communists
had at least as much, if not more to do with the conditions in Germany
after WWI, than the treaty.

You stop when people decide that attacking the US is not in their best
interests.  That is the nature of defense.  I will never give up
defending my nation.  That does not mean I agree with everything
politicians do, but I do not believe in committing national suicide
because I might hate the President.  Didn't want to do it under
Clinton, whom I merely disagreed with on many things, rather than
hated, and I'm not about to do it now.
